Interactive video chat: answers grounded in what you are watching

How Clip Insights answers questions about the video in front of you, in real time, using retrieval over the transcript.

The Clip Insights interactive chat feature

Working through a difficult video usually means pausing, opening a new tab, and searching for an explanation that may or may not match what you were watching. Interactive video chat removes that detour: ask the question where the question came up, and get an answer grounded in the video itself.

What it gives you

  • Immediate clarity. Stuck on a concept? Ask in the chat and get a context-relevant answer in seconds. Watching a coding tutorial, “what does this function do?” is answered against that tutorial, not against the internet in general.
  • No detour. The information comes to you rather than sending you to a forum thread that half-matches your problem.
  • Follow-ups that stick. The chat keeps the context of the video, so you can go deeper on one point without re-establishing what you are talking about.

Using it

  1. Open the video in Clip Insights.
  2. Switch to the AI Chat tab.
  3. Ask your question.
  4. Read the answer, then keep going.

Why grounding matters

The reason this works is that the answer is retrieved, not recalled. The transcript is chunked, embedded and indexed, and the model answers from the retrieved passages. That is what keeps the answer about this video rather than a plausible-sounding average of every video like it.

Who benefits

  • Students getting immediate clarity on hard academic material.
  • Professionals compressing a long webinar into the parts they need.
  • Lifelong learners following a thread further than the video takes it.
